Even though I do my very best to protect the steel from rusting with lacquer, this is only temporary. I have learned from many people in the paint industry, that even with the best preparation, rust spots and lines will still form under clear coat lacquer. I beat myself up over this issue. I have had to come to terms with it as a unavoidable situation.

I am lucky enough to own one of these beautiful roses; it has pride of place kn my mantlepiece and just takes your breath away when you enter the room.
