About Me...
L.S Metalcrafts was born from the COVID-19 lockdown period where I could not go to my usual workplace and needed something to do. I decided, like many other people in the world, that to start my own business was the best thing for me after discovering a love for metal art and sculptures.

Since 2020 I have worked hard to produce unique pieces, from birds, to flowers and even dragons (much to my sons delight!).

Most of 2023 I have been working hard towards contributing to the BBC TV show "Make it at Market" series 2.
Its been a whirlwind of a year from trying to organise myself to be ready for filming. Deciding which products to show was difficult.

While being a part of the show I have learned about many tools and processes which are new to me. I may be an experienced welder and fabricator but metal art requires a different skill set and a delicate touch.

The first item on my shopping list was a Fly Press. I had never heard of these tools, but wow what a amazing piece of kit!

Next on the agenda, working towards craft fairs. I had some great experiences. My first real craft fair was at the Essex Young Farmers Show. Then after that was Craft in Focus at Heaver Castle.

The filming process of Make it at Market was incredible, like nothing I have ever experienced before! Stressful though, as I was completely out of my comfort zone. The team however made me feel comfortable, and the presenter, Dom Chinea, was so easy to talk to. He made it all so easy.
The show is available on BBC Iplayer. Episode 9.

Next was Radio.
I was invited to BBC radio to help promote the show. I met the presenter, Akylah Rodriguez, once again I was out my comfort zone but she quickly settled my nerves. We spoke about the enormous talent of the other shows contributors, and what the future may hold. She offered to have me back for a catch-up. Hopefully I have lots of good news for her.

2024
So now in 2024, after the my Episode was played on BBC1, my business changed overnight. I am extremely grateful to all the people that purchased from me. I was suddenly very busy, I had worked as hard and as long as I could to fulfill as many orders before the Christmas period. I would have been able to send more if the postal services worked closer to Christmas.

I worked seven long, hard days a week from December 23rd to April 24th, with a short break over the holidays. Then work began on preparing for the Craft fairs.

During the summer of 2024 I decided to experiment with Copper, after a large number of customers asked for copper products. I am pleased to say that since releasing a number of copper pieces they have been received very well.

Now my head is full of ideas. The copper has opened up and huge potential range of items for me to build which I aim to explore. I have since made plenty of handmade copper flowers for gardens.

Fast forward August 2024, I had a Craft fair at RHS Hyde Hall in Essex, this was without doubt the best craft fair I have ever been to. It was well organised, I sold many items and sold out of a few lines. Also taking back orders for the items now sold out.
Now to September. The TV show re-run on the 5th. Giving yet another boost to orders so I am currently working hard to fulfil those orders, while preparing for the upcoming show at Hylands park 14th-15th September in Chelmsford. I will check back in soon!
Now its November 2024.
I have spent the last couple of months preparing for shows, finishing commissions and creating new items. During this time I designed the new Thistle pieces and the Painted roses. For now I have no more shows or fairs until May 2025 so I need to prepare for Christmas now.

December 2024
This is now the last push to get Christmas gifts made and posted, I am pleased to say I was able to get all pieces to my customers.
Another piece of of good news; my Fox jumping on a Mouse sculpture, which was being displayed at The Sculpture park Gallery, was sold and found its new home! Very pleased indeed.
I would like to thank everyone for a wonderful 2024.

2026
2025 was an incredibly busy year. I even missed updating this page! it was full of craft fairs and new designs.
Now for the even better news!
I was fortunate to be chosen to appear in the BBC1 TV show I made it at Market. This is a follow up to the show I was on back in 2023.
I owe it all to the huge support of my customers and other businesses that have stocked and sold my creations. This show was aired on 14th April 2026 and at the time of writing this, still available on BBC iplayer.
On this show Dominic Chinea, known from The Repair shop, Dom's Cornish workshop and of course Make it at Market helps me and my son build a rose!
I even got him to personally engrave the leaves! I intend to auction this item with 100% of the sale going to McMillan cancer support charity.

A metalwork artist and business owner is set to appear on a popular BBC One show.
Lindon, 40, runs L.S Metalcrafts just outside the town and will feature on the BBC One series I Made it at Market.
The episode airs on television on April 14 but is already available on the BBC iPlayer.
Lindon first appeared on the original show 'Make it at Market' in 2023 and said the experience has transformed his business. “Without that first show, I don’t think I’d be anywhere,” he said. “Before, I’d made one sale — now it’s into the thousands.
My aim is to build it into a full-time, family business so that my children can have a job in the future if they want to.”His 13-year-old son is already showing an interest in metalwork and helps out with age-appropriate tasks, while his six-year-old daughter, he joked, is “too young to start welding just yet”.
The show includes a return visit from presenter Dominic Chinea, known for his work on BBC's The Repair Shop.“I think they were surprised at how well it’s gone,” Mr Suett said.“I’m now three years into my five-year plan, which the show helped me set out, and hopefully within the next two years I’ll be full-time.
”He also thanked those who have supported him, saying: "Thank you to all the people who supported me, I wouldn't be able to do it without them." Lindon’s passion for metalwork began after seeing “beautiful” metal sculptures in a friend’s garden. His company now creates unique, made-to-order metal sculptures, shipping pieces across the UK and aiming to expand internationally.
